TRON SCOOTER

Children's scooter design project. Showcasing the ability to quickly brand, sketch and produce renders for a concept idea.

Sketch Render

The sketch render shows the initial concept prior to CAD model. The style of Tron Legacy has been used to theme the scooter, with LED strip lights inspired by the motorcycles in the film. Tron Legacy is referenced across multiple different online games and is still highly relevant even with the film being released in 2010.

Two colours would be available, encouraging multiple kids to play.

Proposal

The project aimed to produce a first proposal. Manufacturing the scooter would require some design changes. Likely a welded sheet metal aluminium base, with steel tube upright and handles. The wheels would require bearing redesign to keep the hubless wheels. The coloured LED strips could be covered with opaque plastic and fitted into slots cut into the aluminium base, and overall is a feasible feature.

The scooter would cost more to manufacture than a standard scooter, but the sales price could be considerably higher.
